About Us

Founded in the summer of 2024, the West Hollowell Foundation emerged from a shared vision to revitalize the West Hollowell neighborhood while honoring its rich history and preserving the legacy of its residents. Inspired by Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens' initiative to support underserved communities, a group of dedicated community leaders and activists came together to form an organization that would serve as the community quarterback—steering revitalization efforts with the residents at the heart of every decision.

West Hollowell is a neighborhood steeped in culture and history, known for its tight-knit community and resilience. However, like many urban areas, it has faced challenges such as economic disinvestment and the risk of displacement due to gentrification. Recognizing these challenges, the West Hollowell Foundation was established to ensure that revitalization benefits the people who have long called this neighborhood home.

We work tirelessly to advocate for legacy residents, prevent displacement, and foster inclusive growth that uplifts everyone. Through partnerships with civic leaders, businesses, nonprofits, and the residents themselves, we aim to transform West Hollowell into a model of equitable and community-led development.

The West Hollowell Foundation aims to foster strategic collaboration among civic leaders, residents, and community organizations, ensuring a unified voice in shaping a prosperous future for West Hollowell while preserving its rich history and culture. We are dedicated to creating pathways for progress that protect and enhance the lives of the people who have shaped this neighborhood, ensuring they are not only part of its story but are central to its continued success and prosperity.
